Clinical Spectrum of Nail Diseases

Irregular nail pigmentations
caused by external contact to graphite dust

Longitudinal nail Pigmentation
This brown streaking of the nail was caused by a nevus, located in the nail matrix.It is often benign but a nail matrix melanoma has to be excluded.

Psoriasis of the finger nails
before and after systemic therapy with methotrexate over several months

Nail deformations by iron deficiency
before and after oral iron substitution over several months

Distal detachment of the thumb nails caused by Biotin deficiency
before and after several months of oral biotin substitution

Nail deformations by mucoid cysts
are variable, depending on the size and location of the cysts
