Establishment of HAIR & NAIL

In 1997 establishment of HAIR & NAIL, an institution that is concerned with clinical research, education and communication with regard to hair and nail diseases.

Scientific activity and teaching assignment

Since 1983 scientific research and publications to the aetiology, pathogenesis and therapy of alopecia areata. Setting up and heading a surgery for patient with hair diseases, especially with alopecia areata. Giving lectures in General Dermatology to students studying medicine and dentistry at the University of Bonn. Appointment as Examiner in Dermatology for  medical students and students of dentistry taking the state examination.

Since October 1993 also dealing with androgenetic alopecia and diffuse loss of hair and cunsulating, advising and caring for patients suffering from these diseases.  In the last years additional specialisation in the diagnosis and treatment of nail diseases. Further education of 9 assistant doctors in dermatology and allergology while settling down in own dermatological practice. Continuing lecturing of dermatology to students of dentistry at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn. Further appointment as Examiner for Doctoral Dissertations and Examiner in Dermatology for students of dentistry taking the state examination.

Allocation of trichological dissertations and scientific overseeing of 7 doctoral candidates.

85 publications and overview articles, 19 book contributions, 76 printed lectures and presentations at scientific conferences and congresses,  137 unprinted lectures, 96 trichological seminar meetings at universities clinics and for established dermatologists.
